Paddle Inspiration – My Starboard SUP Community

Monday dawned cold, gray with rain predicted here in mid-April Oregon. I wanted to paddle – but the weather was not being a friend. Then two things caught my eye! One was a Facebook post by Starboard Dream Team rider, Fiona Wylde. Fiona was cheerfully training hard on the Columbia River in a brutal rain/snow mix. Mmm, not so bad here.

But the clincher was a post by Starboard SUP that showcased paddling the pristine waters surrounding the Cora Cora Maldives Resort. Talk about utter paradise. Seeing the clean, clear water lit a fire that would keep me mentally warm while collecting plastic from my own hometown Deschutes River. “Bloom where you are planted,” comes to mind!

Additionally, once I am dressed appropriately I know that even a cool rainy paddle can deliver some magnificent moments – just look for them. I plan to have some fun while earning some Blue Tiki digital currency (a social token for the future). I can earn Blue Tiki by doing a task – for instance, paddling 2 km for World health Day. Are you wondering what I am talking about?

Check out Blue Tiki for a full explanation of how you can earn digital currency while enjoying time on and around the water. You might even earn a chance to win a trip to Cora Cora Maldives. Scroll through the gallery below (images from the Starboard SUP Facebook page).
